Autumn Smoker

by Dax Montana on Nov.07, 2009, under General

With the end of the year so near, the business I work for slows down a little bit. Actually, it slows down a lot. However, due to my boss’s mismanagement; I’ll end up with plenty of over time hours until the end of the year.

Anyway, I have Saturday night off and that means a chance to fire up the old smoker. The lovely and talented Priscilla came home with not one but two Boston butts. (One whole butt cut in half) Anyway, the fire has started and the meat is on. With the cooler air, it will take a bit longer to smoke than in the summer. After about five hours, no more smoke will benefit the meat. I plan on finishing up the butts in the oven set at 225 degrees. My mouth is already watering.

I built a fire in the fire pit on the deck as well as in the pit too. I watched the flames lick the cool autumn air and listened to my beloved Georgia Bulldogs beat the shit out of Tennessee Tech. It’s the game we Georgia fans have wait for all year long…it’s like beating Tennessee and Tech…Combined! The game wasn’t televised because my Dawgs suck this year. So I had to listen to the game on the radio.

Now I think I’ll drink a few(more) beers and play the guitar for a little bit and enjoy my day off.

Just Damn!
